OPENING OF FACEBOOK'S NEW DUBLIN OFFICE

Client: FACEBOOK
Project: Opening of New Dublin offices
ATTENDANCE: 500

BACKGROUND

CWB & PPJ Ltd have a long-standing relationship with Facebook, having successfully worked with them on key annual events, from their Summer Party in Merrion Square to their Christmas Event at the Guinness Store House. In November 2014, Taoiseach Enda Kenny was set to launch Facebook’s new 120,000 sq ft headquarters, and the company wanted to stage a truly memorable event.

METHODOLOGY

We began a consultation process with the inhouse team and Event Fuel who were delivering the event, presenting a number of acts and concepts and identifying partner companies to assist in the delivery of the event. We conducted an in-house poll amongst the 500 staff and identified a short-list of acts to play at the event.

We identified Ireland’s most successful act internationally, Kodaline, as the ideal artists and embarked on the process of booking them for this event.

In the final run-up to the event, we had daily contact with all the stakeholders and began the build of the set and room 24 hours in advance to allow the day-to-day business of the 500 employees in the building to carry on.

CHALLENGES

This was a complex contract which involved  one of the biggest companies in the world, government dignitaries and the world of rock and roll.

CONCLUSION

From the Taoiseach’s address to the last chord played by Kodaline, the whole event was a huge success creating headlines the next day from the business pages  to the music press  and we continue to work with Facebook on a regular basis.
